Claim.—2. A pair of tongs comprising a pair of levers, one of the levers having a knife edge, the other lever having a projection engaging the knife edge, means for pivotally connecting the levers together adjacent to the knife edge and projection, a jaw integral with one of the levers, a movable jaw slidably mounted in the fixed jaw, and means connecting the movable jaw to the second lever.

A pair of tongs comprising a pair of levers, pivotally connected intermediate of their length, a fixed jaw integral with one of the levers, a movable jaw having a shank slidably engaging the fixed jaw, and adjustable means connecting the second lever to the shank of the movable jaw, whereby the openings of the jaws may be adjusted, substantially as described.

4. A pair of tongs comprising a pair of levers pivotally connected intermediate of their length, a fixed jaw integral with one of the levers, and having an orifice extending therethrough and an opening in the bottom wall communicating with the orifice, and orifices through the side walls of the lever portion of the jaw, a movable jaw having a shank slidably engaging with the orifice in the fixed jaw, the second lever extending through the opening in the fixed jaw and means for securing the second lever to the shank of the movable jaw.
