Claim.—1. A heater comprising a heat retaining member formed in two portions, an electrical resistance designed to be inserted between the two portions, and means for securing the two portions in assembled position, and prevent access of air flowing across the resistance.

2. The heating element claimed in claim 1, in which a strip of insulating material embraces the periphery of the heat retaining member, and means for holding the strip of insulating material in position.

3. A heating element comprising a heat retaining member formed sectional, an electrical resistance between and embedded in the sections of the heat retaining member, a strip of insulating material around the periphery of the heat retaining member, and a ring embracing a strip of insulating material, and the heat retaining member.
