Claim.—1. In valve, the combination of a casing having Inlet and outlet connections communicating with its sides, a partition dividing the casing into upper and lower chambers and extending from the upper side of the inlet connection to the lower side of the outlet connection, said partition having a passage formed therein having a valve seat on the under side, a resilient ball valve member loose In the lower chamber adapted to be seated against said seat under the action of a fluid entering through the inlet connection, and a spindle operating in the upper portion of the casing having its lower end adapted to pass through the passage in said partition to force the valve member from its seat, said lower end having a valve displacer secured thereto and adapted to rock thereon.

2. In a valve, the combination of a casing having inlet and outlet connections communicating with its sides, and an opening in its lower end, a partition dividing said casing Into upper and lower chambers and extending from the upper side of the inlet connection to the lower side of the outlet connection and having a passage formed there-. through forming a valve seat, a resilient ball valve member loose in the lower chamber adapted to rest against said seat, a spindle operating in the upper chamber having a depending portion adapted to pass through said passage to force the valve member from Its seat, and a dished plug closing the opening in the lower end of the cylinder, said plug having a plurality of notches formed In its edge.

5. In a valve, the combination of a casing having inlet and outlet connections extending from its sides and an opening in its lower end, a partition dividing the casing Into upper and lower chambers and extending from the upper side of the inlet connection to the lower side of the outlet connection, said partition having a passage formed therein having a valve seat on the under side, said lower chamber being substantially spherical, a resilient ball valve member loose in the lower chamber adapted to be seated against said seat, a spindle operating in the upper portion of the casing having its lower end adapted to pass through the passage in said partition to force the valve member from its seat, said lower end having a valve displacer secured thereto and adapted to rock thereon, said displacer having a flat lower surface, and a dished plug closing the opening in the lower end of the lower chamber, said dished plug having a plurality of notches formed in its edge.
