Claim.—5. A ditching machine comprising in combination with a beam member, a colter and a drill in detachable engagement with one another, a vertically adjustable colter member and a vertically adjustable standard member in connection with the beam adapted to carry the colter and drill, and means associated with the drill for moistening the surface thereof whereby the walls of the ditch are firmly set and friction with the earth is avoided.

A ditching machine comprising in combination with a vertically adjustable beam member, a colter and a drill in detachable engagement with one another, a vertically adjustable colter member and a vertically adjustable standard member in connection with the beam adapted to carry the colter and drill, a bracing member adapted to detachably engage the colter member and standard member and pivotally engaging the beam, and mean's associated with the drill for moistening the surface thereof whereby the walls of the ditch are firmly set and friction with the earth is avoided.

A ditching machine comprising in combination with a beam member, a colter and a drill in detachable engagement with one another, a vertically adjustable colter member and a vertically adjustable standard member in connection with the beam adapted to carry the colter and drill, a water tank carried by the beam adapted to supply fluid to the drill to moisten the surface thereof, whereby
the walls of the ditch are firmly set and friction with the earth is avoided, and a valve member for controlling the flow of fluid.
