Claim.—1. The combination in a lubricating system, a pump, a suction pipe with a check valve therein intermediate a source of lubricant and the said pump, discharge pipe from the said pump, each of same having therein a measuring device comprising a cylinder, a spring influenced pinion working loosely in the said cylinder and a check valve, all substantially as specified.

2. The combination in a lubricating system, a pump, a suction pipe with a check valve therein intermediate a source of lubricant and the said pump, discharge pipes from the said pump, each of same having therein a measuring device comprising a cylinder with a portion of its bore restricted to form two valve seats, a loosely fitting piston slidably engaged in the said cylinder in the end nearest
the pump the said piston being spring influenced from the adjacent valve seat, a check valve in the other end of the cylinder comprising a ball and spring, the whole being adapted that lubricant supplied by actuation of the pump will be measured by the displacement of the loosely fitting piston.

3. In combination with a lubricating system, a measuring device comprising a cylinder with a portion of its bore restricted to form a double valve scat, a loosely fitting piston in relation to one of the valve seats yieldably supported from the valve seat by a spring, a ball and spring in relation to the other valve seat forming a check valve, the whole being adapted to pass measured quantities of lubricant through the system.
