Process for the Liquefaction of Coal (Patent No: 304022)
Inventor: Boomer, Edward Herbert, (assignor) Location: Edmonton Comments: see above Description:
WHAT I CLAIM AS MY INVENTION IS:-
1. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into an oil suspension of carbonaceous material under high pressure and at an elevated temperature.
2. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into an oil suspension of coal under high pressure and at an elevated temperature to effect partial liquefaction of the coal and combination of the natural gas therewith.
3. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into an oil suspension of carbonaceous material under a pressure of 1500 pounds per square inch or more and at a temperature between 250°C to 600°C.
4. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into an oil suspension of carbonaceous material under high pressure and at an elevated temperature to effect partial liquefaction of the coal and combination therewith, in the liquid phase, of the natural gas dissolved in the oil.
5. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into an oil suspension of finely divided carbonaceous material at an elevated temperature and under a pressure at least equal to the thermal pressure developed.
6. The process claimed in Claim 5 including the use of a catalyst.
