Description: What I claim:
1. In a rotary valve, the combination with an engine having a cylinder block with cylinders therein of a cylinder head, bolt means to secure said cylinder head to said cylinder block, a further cylinder extending through said block above and at right angles to said cylinders, transverse apertures extending through said block from its outer face to its face opposing said cylinder block, said apertures intersecting said further cylinder and arranged to open into said cylinders within said cylinder block, an end wall closing one end of said further cylinder, a cover plate to close the other end of said further cylinder, an orifice through said cover plate, bolt means to secure said cover plate to said cylinder head, a drum rotatably mounted within said further cylinder, said drum having a shaft extending therefrom, said shaft adapted to extend through said orifice in said cover plate, conduits extending diagonally through diameter of said drum and having side walls to separate said conduit a from each other arranged to align with said apertures, at intervals, as said drum rotates, a fuel intake manifold having a plurality of branches, each said branch connected to said cylinder head, aligning certain of said apertures, forming a continuous passage, an exhaust outlet manifold having a plurality of branches, each said branch connected to said cylinder head, aligning certain others of said apertures, forming a continuous passage, and means to rotate said drum.

2. In a rotary valve, the combination with an engine having a cylinder block with cylinders therein, of a cylinder head, bolt means securing said cylinder head to said cylinder block, a further cylinder extending through said block, above and at right angles to said cylinders, a sleeve fitting within said further cylinder means to keep said sleeve rigid within said further cylinder, transverse apertures extending through said block and sleeve, from its outer face to its face opposing said cylinder
block, said apertures intersecting said further cylinder and arranged to open into said cylinders within said cylinder-block, an end wall enclosing one end of said further cylinder, an orifice within said end wall, a cover plate to close the other end of said further cylinder, an orifice through said cover plate, bolt means to secure said cover plate to said cylinder head, a drum rotatably mounted within said further cylinder, a trunnion extending from one end of said drum, said trunnion to rotatably bear in said orifice within end wall of said further cylinder, a shaft extending from other end of said drum, said shaft adapted to extend through said orifice in said cover plate, an oil-hole produced through said cylinder head and associated sleeve, a further oil hole produced in said drum to align with aforesaid oil-hole, a plurality of holes-produced through shell of said drum, conduits extending diagonally through diameter of said drum having sidewalls to separate said conduits from each other and arranged to align with said apertures, at intervals as said drum rotates, a fuel intake manifold having a plurality of branches, each said branch connected to said cylinder head, aligning certain of said apertures, forming a continuous passage, an exhaust outlet manifold, having a plurality of branches, each said branch connected to said cylinder head, aligning certain others of said apertures, forming a continuous passage, interconnected cavities produced in said cylinder-head, said cavities to align other such cavities within said cylinder block, forming a continuous chamber, and means to rotate aforesaid shaft and its connected drum by the engines own power.
