Claim.—1. A tool for cotter pins and the like comprising a pair of sections pivotally secured together forming movable handles and jaws, a mandrel mounted on one of said jaws adapted to receive and support the loop of a cotter pin, and means on said jaws for gripping the shanks of a cotter pin to retain said pin in rigid position in co-operation with the mandrel.

2. A tool for cotter pins and the like comprising a pair of sections pivotally secured together forming movable handles and jaws, a mandrel mounted on one of said jaws adapted to receive and support the loop of a cotter pin, means on said jaws for gripping the shanks of a cotter pin in co-operation with the mandrel and means for adjusting the mandrel on said jaw.

3. A tool for cotter pins and the like comprising a pair of sections pivotally secured together including movable jaws, a mandrel mounted on one of said jaws adapted to receive and support, the loop of a cotter pin, means on said jaws for gripping the shanks of a cotter pin in co-operation with the mandrel, means for permitting slidable movement, of the mandrel and means for retaining said mandrel in adjusted positions.
