Oil Well Tubing Dewaxing Tool (Patent No: 434941)

Claim.—1. A dewaxing tool for oil well tubing of the type described comprising in combination, an outer case, an inner rod element slidable longitudinally within said case and suspended from the well tool string, a shearable pin projecting from said rod element, a slotted aperture in said case wall slidably registering with said pin for the suspension of the said case by the said rod, longitudinal slots spaced lengthwise along said rod element and in predetermined relative angularity therearound, cutter knives pivoted within said slots with their stems to swing outwardly from same, slotted apertures in said outer case to register with said knife stems and through which said knife stems will slidably project.

2. A tool for dewaxing oil well tubing comprising in combination an outer case, an inner rod element slidable longitudinally within said case and screwably suspended from the well tool string, angularly pointed wax cutter knives and their stems pivotally projecting from said rod element through slots in said outer case and disposed to cut wax when in approximately horizontal positions, pivot pins diametrically disposed through said rod element within said knife slots, a longitudinally slotted aperture in said outer case, a shearing pin projecting from said rod element and shearably slidable within said slotted aperture to permit said cutter knives and their stems to assume downward positions for clear withdrawal of the tool on the shearing of said pin within its slot.
