Hay Bale Stackers and Loaders
Maxwell W. Bradshaw. Mountain View, Alberta. Canada
Application Norember 8, 1949, Serial No. 594,024 5 Claims

1. A material loader and transporter comprising an assembly attachable to a tractor or the like, said loader and transporter consisting of a tractor- surrounding, and tractor-secured supporting frame including upwardly projecting load carrying columns and an elongated conveyor longitudinally over-spanning said tractor, and connected to the apex of a transversely aligned pair of said columns, said conveyor being articulated to move in a vertical plane at the locus of its connection aforesaid so as to embody a forward section and a rearward section, a conveyor belt in each section, means for operating the same, and means for rotating said sections independently between the horizontal and positions within an inferior quadrant thereto, the adjacent ends of said sections being contiguous and co-planar.

2. A material loader and transporter comprising an assembly attachable to a tractor or the like, said loader and transporter consisting of a tractor-surrounding said tractor-secured supporting frame including upwardly projecting load carrying columns and an elongated conveyor longitudinally over-spanning said tractor, and connected to the apex of a transversely aligned pair of said columns, said conveyor being articulated to move in a vertical plane at the locus of its connection aforesaid so as to embody a forward section and a rearward section, of which forward section is the longer and is provided with at least one front-end supporting wheel, a conveyor belt in each section, means by gears for operating the same, and means by gears for rotating said sections independently between the horizontal and positions within an inferior quadrant thereto, the adjacent ends of said sections being contiguous and co-planar.

3. A material loader and transporter comprising an assembly attachable to a tractor or the like, said loader and transporter consisting of a tractor-surrounding, and tractor-secured supporting frame including upwardly projecting load carrying columns and an elongated conveyor longitudinally overspanning said tractor, and connected to the .apex of a transversely aligned pair of said columns, said conveyor being articulated to move in a vertical plane at the locus of its connection aforesaid so as to embody a forward section and a rearward section, of which the forward section is the longer and is provided with at least one front-end supporting wheel, a conveyor belt in each section, means for operating the same, and means for rotating ..aid sections independently between the horizontal and positions, within an inferior quadrant thereto, the adjacent ends of said sections being contiguous and coplanar, and a pair of forwardly projecting, outwardly and oppositely yieldable gathering components at the front end of said forward section and on either side of the belt thereof.

5. A material loader and transporter comprising an assembly attachable to a tractor or the like, a tractor-surrounding and supporting frame for the loader, a pair of upwardly projecting load carrying columns and a pair of elongated conveyors longitudinally overspanning said tractor and swing-ably connected at their juncture by a transverse shaft mounted on said carrying columns, said conveyors being forward and rearward sections, of which the forward section is the longer and is wheel-mounted, at its front end, a conveyor chain belt in each section, a drive pulley as motivated relatively by a source of power and driving gears to operate the conveyors independently although synchronously in the same directions either way, hydraulic means for rotating said conveyor sections independently between the horizontal and positions within an inferior quadrant thereto, the adjacent ends of said sections being contiguous and co-planar, and means to guide the bales into and onto the forward section.
