4 Claims

1. A device of the class described comprising in combination a plurality of levelling rails and a plurality of adjustable pegs, said rails being attachable to said pegs, said pegs including a hollow-shank and vertically movable stems engageable within said shanks, and means co-operating with said shanks and said stems for locking the two in the desired relationship.

2. In a screed levelling device, an adjustable peg capable of being driven into the ground to support levelling rails co-operating therewith, said pegs comprising in combination a hollow shank, the lower end of said shank being tapered, a vertically movable stem engageable within said shank, means on the upper end of said peg engageable by said rails, and means co-operating with said shanks and said stems for locking the two in the desired relationship, said means including a plurality of projecting teeth vertically positioned within said shank, an inclined shoulder extending substantially around the lower end of said stem capable of selective engagement between any two of said teeth.

3. The device according to Claim (1) in which said rails are of inverted "U" cross-sectional configuration, and means associated with said rails for attaching same to said stem.

4. The device according to Claim (3) in which said rails are of inverted "U" cross-sectional configuration, and means associated with said rails for attaching same to said stem.
