1. A manually operable scissor sharpening tool comprising a handled mounting piece, a spindle extending transversely across said mounting piece, a substantially cylindrically abrasive wheel mounted for rotation on said spindle, and guide means extending from said mounting piece, the guide means including a flat guide surface adjacent the peripheral surface of the abrasive wheel, which guide surface lies in a plane which is intersected at an acute angle by the axis of said abrasive wheel, a part of said plane being intersected by the periphery of the wheel,

2. A tool as defined in claim 1, wherein the angle formed between the plane and the axis in the order of 45°.

3. A tool as defined in claim 2, in which said spindle is slidably adjustably arranged in said mounting piece.

4. A tool as defined in claim 1, or 2 or 3, wherein said handle piece is formed in two parts substantially enclosing said rotatable wheel.
