Motor (Patent No: 107313)

Inventor: Davidson, Lyman Crittenden

Location: Calgary

Comments: N/A

Description: Lyman Crittenden Davidson, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 3rd September, 1907 ; 6 years. Filed llth July. 1907. Receipt No. 149,172.

Claim.—1. The combination of a revoluble barrel provided with a spring for turning it, means for applying power steadily to said spring for the purpose of winding the same, means for holding said barrel while said spring is being wound, mechanism for releasing said barrel periodically after being wound, and a driven member connected with said barrel and propelled periodically thereby.

2. The combination of a revoluble member adapted to rotate by successive impulses, driven mechanism connected with said revoluble member and propelled intermittently thereby, means for applying power constantly to said revoluble member, and mechanism connected with said means and with said revoluble member for storing up said power and for liberating the same at intervals.

3. The combination of a revoluble member, means for constantly applying power to said revoluble member and for forcing the same under tension, and mechanism for automatically liberating said revoluble member at predetermined intervals.
4. The combination of a barrel, means for placing the same under tension, trip mechanism for liberating said barrel at predetermined intervals, and driven mechanism connected with said barrel and actuated thereby.

5. The combination of a barrel, a spring connected therewith for turning the same, means for normally preventing the rotation of said spring barrel, gearing connected with said spring for turning the same, said gearing being provided with trip mechanism for periodically releasing said barrel, and mechanism connected with said barrel and operated by movements thereof for transmitting power there- from.

6. The combination of a stationary axle, a barrel revolubly mounted thereupon and provided with notches, a spring connected with said barrel and with said axle for the purpose of tensioning said barrel relatively to said axle, means for applying power to said barrel for the purpose of turning the same temporarily against the tension of said spring, trip mechanism provided with a pawl engaging one of said notches for the purpose of liberating said spring barrel, allowing the same to turn on the impulse of said spring, a pawl for engaging another of said notches and stopping the rotation of said spring barrel on the impulse of said spring, and a removable member mounted upon said axle and connected with said spring barrel so as to be driven thereby.

7. The combination of a revoluble barrel provided with a spring for turning it, means for applying power continuously to "aid spring for the purpose of winding the same. mechanism for releasing said spring barrel at intervals, driven mechanism connected with said spring barrel and actuated thereby, and means for stopping said driven mechanism after performing movements of predetermined lengths.

8. The combination of a barrel, means for winding the same, mechanism for propelling said barrel at definite intervals, driven mechanism connected with said barrel and actuated thereby, and means for causing said barrel to travel a definite distance before being stopped in its rotation.
