Description: Hubert Peters and Frederick McDonald Bill, assignee of a half interest, both of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 22nd August, 1916; 6 years. Filed 14th April, 1916. Receipt No. 264,266.

Claim.-1. An indicator of the class described comprising an upper and lower roller, a curtain operatively connected to the rollers, sprocket wheels operatively connected to the upper and lower rollers, a slidably shaft, a pair of sprocket wheels on the slidable shaft operatively connected to the sprockets on the upper and lower rollers respectively, a driving sprocket on the slidable shaft, and means for moving the shaft longitudinally to frictionally engage the driving sprocket with either of the said sprockets.

2. An indicator of the class described comprising upper and lower rollers, a curtain operatively mounted on the rollers, sprockets operatively connected to the upper and lower rollers, a slidable shaft, sprockets on the slidable shaft operatively connected to the sprockets on the upper and lower rollers respectively, a driving sprocket on the slidable shaft, and electrical means for moving the slidable shaft in a longitudinal direction to engage the driving wheel with one of the said sprockets when the car has reached the end of its journey.

3. An indicator of the class described comprising a pair of rollers, a curtain operatively mounted on the rollers, sprockets operatively connected to the upper and lower rollers, dished friction discs operatively engaging with the sprockets, and means for intermittently transmitting motion to the said sprockets.

4. An indicator of the class described comprising a pair of rollers, a curtain wound on the rollers, sprockets carried by the rollers, a pair of sprockets operatively connected to the said sprockets on the rollers, and provided with bosses having teeth in the lateral faces thereof, a driving sprocket intermediate of the pair of sprockets formed with a having teeth in the lateral faces and means for moving driving sprocket to engage either of the pair of co-acting sprockets.
