In 1911, German entrepreneur Martin Cohn unveiled his vision of
a revolutionary Rocky Mountain garden city paradise known as
Nordegg. It was to be a coal mining community unlike any other.

did its founder. In this feature, Red Deer writer Johnnie
Bachusky chronicles the life and work of Martin Nordegg.
In this excerpt, filmmaker Carl Bessai tells the story of Alberta
