The Plan
This section contains a general overview of the British
Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) as it occurred in
Canada. It will take
a brief look at how the Plan came to be, and the reasons
why both Canada and Great Britain agreed to the Plan. After
some tough negotiations between Canadian and British diplomats,
the agreement was signed and it didn’t take long for the
Plan to be put into action. The Plan was a key cog to the
Allied
war machine. It impacted the economic, political and social
life of dozens of Canadian communities and left a lasting
impression on the Canadian landscape.
