Organization Name: Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble

Organization Mission Statement: Tryzub's primary objective is to preserve and promote Ukrainian dance, and to spread this aspect of Canadian culture within both the multicultural community and larger arts community. This objective is achieved through Tryzub's aim to stimulate pride and individuality within its dancers through the creative expression of dance. This vision is the catalyst that has kept Tryzub members dedicated to their craft. Theirs is a deep love of Ukrainian tradition and dance.

Organization Focus: The Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble has 2 foci - the first being performing, entertaining and spreading the Ukrainian culture throughout Canada and the world. The second encompases the Tryzub School of Ukrainian Dance, which exists to teach future generations about the Ukrainian culture and the art form of dance.

Organization Focus: VoicePrint, now celebrating its 15th anniversary, is a strong national, nonprofit organization with a vibrant Alberta presence. This specialty multi-media network broadcasts -- on cable, satellite and the Internet -- current international, national, regional and local news to the 3.2 million Canadians (and more than 354,000 Albertans) who cannot independently access printed materials, such as newspapers and magazines, due to blindness, low vision or a wide range of physical and learning disabilities. VoicePrint relies on its hundreds of volunteers (over 300 in Alberta alone) in our day-to-day program offerings. Our volunteers: read articles from daily, weekly and monthly publications; help out in program production and database management; help organize fundraising events; and assist in training and coaching. VoicePrint readily acknowledges the contributions of all our volunteers and we strive to treat them as part of our family. Our volunteers include current and former broadcasters, politicians,Premier Ralph Klein, ex-teachers and accountants, the former head of the CNIB, lawyers, stay-at-home moms and dads, librarians, sales executives, students, actors, retirees – people like you who want to make a difference. Organization Focus: On behalf of our member agencies, we work with the media, business community, educational institutions,government agencies and the public to promote volunteerism through a weekly volunteer column, agency profiles, and television segments.

Youth make invaluable contributions to our community and our Leaders of Tomorrow program recognizes youth for their dedication to the voluntary sector. Youths who are between six to 24 years old are eligible for nomination. All nominees are invited to a recognition evening and will have their names are printed in the Lethbridge Herald.
